Sunburn is joining hands with United, a social awareness foundation, to inculcate a sense of environmental responsibility in the minds of the youth through its “Leave no Trace� campaign. Through the simple & smart principles of “recycle, reuse and restore�, Sunburn is furthering United’s cause of spreading awareness on an eco- friendly lifestyle with the entire Sunburn community.
A step towards being more environmental responsible, “Leave no Trace� reaches out to the free-spirited youthful fans of Sunburn to make it one of the most eco- friendly festivals in Asia

Objective
Sunburn would be a great platform for United to associate with in order to connect with like-minded people. United as a social awareness foundation aims to reach the youth to make them believe in the power of U. United aims at inculcating a sense of responsibility in the minds of the future generation and bringing about a realization that each one of them can bring about a positive change in the society and the world around them by following simple principles in their everyday lives


The activities planned under Leave No Trace at Sunburn

Flash Mob: A flash mob will be conducted at populated spots in Goa such Candolim beach, Baga and Calungut to get the attention from the crowds. After a short gig on one min the Emcee will give out the Leave NO Trace message to the people at the beaches and encourage them to keep Goa clean and green
Tree Frame: We’ll be installing a bare tree frame made of metal at the venue, Sunburners can write their message about going green on a cloth in the shape of a leaf that will be provided by us and clip it on the tree. With increasing number of messages the tree will eventually turn green.
Art installation: a grid will be created where people can place in their plastic bottles that will eventually look like an art installation made of waste
Street Branding:We are putting up posters, standees, tent cards & coaster in restaurants and other such material with massages on Leave No Trace on the street leading to the Sunburn Venue
Library at the venue: Leave No Trace Library will be created at the venue- People will be asked through face book and other mediums to bring a book along to donate at Sunburn. Others can borrow the books to read and relax in the flea market area. This activity is to encourage use of second hand books in order to save paper.
Short AVs: We’ll be running short avs (20 secs each) to give the message of Leave No Trace at Sunburn
Other initiatives:
Switch off the lights for 5 mins during the event.–This is to show how much of a difference even 5 mins in our daily routine can make
Trash cans separate for plastic items and other items – to get people used to discarding plastic in separate cans for recycle purpose
40 volunteers will be hired for educating people at Sunburn to keep the beach
Communication at the venue constantly to encourage people to maintain the venue clean
Everyone entering the venue will get a Leave No Trace stamp on their wrists in order to get their pledge towards this initiative
