–Because You Care

Concept

Redefining the term ‘garage sale’, a platform that allows people to shop their favourite items for a cause. Apparel, accessories, memorabilia, branded items, dresses, antiques,etc. collected from popular personalities and celebrities across the globe will be sold at ‘The U Sale’ at throw away prices to raise money towards a specific cause.  

Format

  •  Exhibition event for a weekend
  •  Sales format: Brands for less
  •  Location: P 2, Raghuvanshi Mills
  •  Date: Mid January, 2012
  •  Objective: Promote Education for the under privileged
 

The Mechanics:

  •  The United Sale is a unique concept wherein the donors as well as the buyers are contributing towards a cause
  •  The donors make a contribution by donating their belongings to be put up for sale at the exhibition
  •  These items will be sold at discounted prices at the exhibition
  •  The proceeds of the sale will be deployed towards creating awareness campaigns for a particular cause and to support specific NGOs
 

Promotion

  •  Social Media
  •  SMS (database)
  •  Word of Mouth
  •  Email messages (database)
  •  Newspaper listings
  •  Promotion at club houses (Bombay gymkhana, NSCI)
 

The Parties:

 Donors - Contribute by giving items  Shoppers - Contribute by Purchasing the items  United – Social Awareness Foundation, providing a platform with the sole objective of creating social awareness  

Gratifying the donors

Donors will be gratified in three phases:
  •  Donation acceptance certificate – total list of items donated
  •  Donation sale certificate – total list of items sold with amount
  •  Donor Signature – Tags with the donors signatures
 

Make a Difference:

  •  Donors can choose to support a cause of their choice
  •  United will create a social awareness campaign to promote ‘Education’ through this initiative
 

Promote Education

Though the number of literate people in India has increased over the years, she still has the largest number of uneducated children in the world – two-thirds of whom are girls. Government reports indicate that 59 million children between 6-14 years do not attend school. Official information further indicates that just a little over one-third of all children who enroll in grade one reach grade eight.
  •  United will associate with other l NGOs to help the one’s in need
  •  United will also create an awareness campaign to awaken people to support Education in India
